This year Sun Winefest is celebrating its 10th anniversary with some amazing events that I just cannot wait to be a part of and of course the wine tasting itself.
I will arrive with my good friend, Stacey on Saturday. The
Grand Tasting kicks off at 12pm. As well as what I know will be wonderful wine tastings, there will also fabulous entertainment
from internationally renowned celebrity chefs.
Donatella Arpaia - Chef and Restauranteur as seen on Food
Network’s Iron Chef America, The Next Iron Chef and Bravo’s Top Chef
Robert Irvine - Chef and star of Food Network’s Dinner:
Impossible & Restaurant: Impossible
Pat LaFrieda & Mark Pastore - Cousins behind LaFrieda
Meat Purveyors
Mary Ann Esposito - Creator and host of the nationally
televised PBS series, Ciao Italia with Mary Ann EspositoTM
Todd English - Chef/Restaurateur, Cookbook Author, TV Host
(At Mohegan Sun: Todd English’s Tuscany )
While all of this sounds amazing, there is truly one thing I
just cannot wait to do. Later in the day
there will be a grape stomping competition - the Mohegan Sun Grape Stomp
Sponsored by Ciroc Ultra Premium Vodka.
As you know I am a huge taster
drinker of wine and I have made wine before but I have never experienced the pleasure and joy of stomping the grapes. A lost art as far as I am concerned. I do believe myself and Stacey have an
excellent chance of winning, especially with my little tiny size 5 feet . It’s interesting that one of the prizes is a
pedicure! I do hope to have some fun
photos.
Sunday offers even more exciting events with another Sun
WineFest Grand Tasting starting at 12pm and even more celebrity chefs.
William Kovel - West Hartford native, Chef and Owner of
Catalyst in Boston
Gesine Bullock-Prado - Baker and author of My Life from
Scratch and the cookbooks Sugar Baby, Pie It Forward and the
upcoming Bake It Like You Mean
Govind Armstrong - Executive Chef and Partner, Table 8
Restaurant
Betty Fraser & Manouschka Guerrier - A Top Chef and her
assistant from Food Network’s Private Chefs of Beverly Hills
Todd Winer - MET Restaurant group chef
Ending the day with a professional shuckers competition
where one will become the reigning champion!
Our evening begins with Bubbles and Bons Bons presented by Moët & Chandon. Pastry chefs will amaze us with their decadent delights while we sip on bubbly.
This is not a bad way to spend a weekend.
There are still some tickets available. Check it out and get inside from the cold for
a day at Mohegan Sun. This is going to be such a
blast of a weekend. Lots to come from me
when I return after the weekend.

I'm bummed I can't go this weekend. Have fun, I know it will be a blast!

ReplyDeleteSadly, no stomping for me but we did get to watch some hysterical people doing it. I am no on a quest to grape stomp.
